Job Description:
The Nuclear Medicine PET/CT Specialist is dedicated to providing exceptional care while executing Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures under a physician's guidance to support effective medical diagnosis and treatment for patients.
Scope
The role encompasses responsibilities across various facilities and departments as directed by Imaging Services leadership, including temporary shift assignments. You will possess a strong knowledge of processes, equipment, and procedures to carry out Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT procedures safely, independently, and proficiently. This position is ideal for facilities that regularly perform PET/CT exams.
Job Essentials
- Implement strict radiation safety protocols and manage the handling, measurement, calibration, and administration of radioactive sources and radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
- Oversee the processes associated with receiving, documenting, storing, and administering radiopharmaceuticals in Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT.
- Ensure accurate patient identification, verify orders, and thoroughly prepare patients for their exams.
- Conduct Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT examinations according to established departmental protocols, demonstrating expertise in scanning techniques; guarantee the correct delivery of radioactive materials to appropriate patients through proper administration routes for both imaging and treatment purposes.
- Maintain excellence in infection control and adhere to sterile techniques.
- Keep up-to-date with all clinical and technical responsibilities associated with the role.
- Comply with relevant State Division of Radiation Control, NRC, and Intermountain policies and procedures, including documentation, billing, and electronic medical workflows.
Shift Details
- Full time (40 hours)
- 4 - 10 hour shifts (7:00 am - 5:00 pm or 6:00 am - 4:00 pm)
Minimum Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology training program.
- ARRT NM or NMTCB Registration.
- Valid state Radiology Tech License.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Minimum one year of experience in Nuclear Medicine.
- Minimum one year of experience in PET/CT.
Experience may be obtained concurrently; student hours may be considered, subject to the hiring leader's discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in CT scanning.

The hourly range for this position is $41.22 - $63.59, with actual rates depending on experience.
