Overview:

Our newly established 12-Bed Medical-Surgical and Observation Unit is designed to deliver high-quality care for patients needing short-term observation and those requiring acute medical or post-surgical attention. This dual-purpose unit optimizes the management of diverse patient needs in a supportive and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized patient care plans, including medication administration and clinical assessments.
  • Document patient care activities thoroughly and accurately.
  • Monitor and communicate patient conditions effectively to healthcare teams, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Coordinate care across disciplines, addressing patient transfers, discharges, and holistic support needs.
  • Educate patients and families according to their unique circumstances and needs.
  • Advocate for the comprehensive well-being of the patients in your care.
  • Provide care in alignment with best practices, including collaboration with other nursing units as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Current State of Tennessee or Multi-State Registered Nurse licensure
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree or RN Diploma in Nursing
  • Certifications:
    • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be current upon hire
    • ACLS certification from the AHA or ARC - Required within 12 months of employment if not current upon hire
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience - Preferred
