Join our team at a dynamic, independently owned Ace Hardware Co-op. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to fill the role of a Retail Sales Representative.

General Summary

The Retail Sales Representative will play a vital role in receiving, stocking, pricing merchandise, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Customer Service:
  • Offer a friendly and positive experience for all customers.
  • Proactively assist customers in resolving issues.
  • Greet customers warmly and thank them as they leave.
  • Exhibit a friendly attitude and collaborate effectively with both customers and team members.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to calls and pages.
  • Direct complex customer complaints to management for resolution.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge and know store layout for effective customer assistance.
  • Provide personalized service that aims to amaze each customer.
• Store Operations:
  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and safe environment in the store.
  • Help receive, check in, and stock merchandise efficiently.
  • Ensure back stock levels are maintained.
  • Assist in keeping the sales floor, stock room, and outdoor areas clean and organized.
  • Help with setting up end caps and promotional merchandise.
  • Gain experience in merchandise resets throughout the store.
  • Support Department Specialists with pricing changes and special orders.
  • Ensure current signage is displayed throughout the store.
  • Operate a forklift safely, with proper training.
  • Communicate any issues to the General Manager promptly.
  • Share merchandising and sales ideas with management.
  • Participate in team meetings and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Other Essential Requirements

• Education/Training: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: Previous retail experience is preferred.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 25 lbs), and climb as necessary.
