Specialized Wound Care Nurse

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Wound Care Nurse to join our team. In this key position, you will take charge of assessing and treating residents with various wounds and ulcers, becoming the go-to expert for skin integrity issues in the community. Your role will also involve administering essential treatments, including sharp debridement, to ensure the best possible outcomes for our residents.

• Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities:

• Assess and manage the care of all residents with wounds and pressure ulcers.
• Provide consultations for residents with skin integrity concerns as needed.
• Collaborate closely with physicians to create effective treatment plans.
• Supervise and ensure the administration of comprehensive wound care treatments.
• Evaluate and document the effectiveness of treatments and changes in skin condition.
• Communicate results and any concerns to physicians, the Director of Nursing, and other team members as required.
• Establish and implement wound care protocols throughout the community, identifying high-risk residents to improve skin care outcomes.
• Identify educational needs regarding wound care for associates and provide training as needed.
• Compile and prepare reports for departmental leadership.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and updates.

Position Requirements:

Education: An associate's degree or higher in a clinical/nursing field is required.

Licenses/Certifications: A valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.

Experience: A minimum of 1 year in a clinical or nursing environment, preferably within the geriatric sector.

Skills & Abilities: Exceptional customer service and a compassionate bedside manner are essential.
